The Art of Asking for What You Want in Your Relationship

Last night while laying in bed next to my love I could feel my heart longing to be told sweet nothings straight from his heart… (words of affirmation babe over here)

This was after a full day of holding the hearts of the best clients ever, pouring love & structure into a spicy passion project, tending to the needs of our sanctuary, & navigating some grief…

So what did I do with this yearning?

I opened - & sweetly, gently & vulnerably asked him to fulfill this desire…

I looked at him with soft doe eyes…

“Would you tell me something nice?” I gently asked him…

Without hesitation he confidently provided his sweet & loving response…

“You’re the most beautiful woman in the world, & so sexy.”

“You’re the best wife ever. You take such great care of me, our family & our house.”

“You’re my bestestestest friend in the whole wide world.”

My eyes welled with tears as I received his words & provision…

I tried to hide this… not wanting to reveal too much… it felt vulnerable… & still I opened to the experience & energy coursing through me…

“FEEL THIS” I reminded myself, so I did.

We laid there… I felt seen, loved & cared for.

He knew exactly what I needed to hear…

And all I had to do was ask for what I needed with a wide open heart…

And I felt filled to the brim with love & gratitude for this man, this profound relationship.

Even though asking for what we want may feel vulnerable, scary even…

The masculine wants to serve & provide for the feminine.

It's in the way in which we ask for what we desire, the energy behind it…

Heart wide open, vulnerable, revealing an inner truth, making yourself available to be felt, makes all the difference.

It is safe to let down your armor, open your heart & speak your desires to him, in fact he will gladly fulfill them & provide them with utter love & sweetness.

You deserve to be met in your desires, my love…

To be moved by a love so big it makes you cry in pure gratitude & love.

This love is possible for you too, I know it.

And if you have it, cherish it, nurture it AND continue to ask for what you most desire.
It’ll be oh so worth it.

xo,
Melissa
